Open a hex — and you'll see what's hidden under it: a coin, a resource, a building, a monster, or just empty ground that can be captured and built on. This page answers three beginner questions: how much it costs, what can drop, and why open hexes at all.
How much does it cost to open a hex?
Opening one hex costs exactly 1 unit of energy
Starter pack. Right after registration you receive a small reserve of energy for free — enough for your first openings.
Where to top up. When the starter reserve runs out, look for a way to replenish energy through the flywheel or solar panels.
Additionally. Energy can also be found on the map or produced in the "Muscle Generator".
What can be under a hex?
Most hexes turn out empty, but sometimes you stumble on something useful — or dangerous.
Empty. The most common outcome. The hex is now open for you — capture it and, if the land type allows it, build on it.
Resource. Energy, wood, stone, ore, mushrooms — what exactly you'll find depends on the landscape of the hex. You can pick it up with one tap.
A coin or a pot of coins. In-game currency — makes you a little richer.
A building or resource deposits. A mine, a generator, ore deposits — the structure stays on the map for everyone. Once you capture the hex, you can use it, manage it, or demolish it and build your own.
Monster. A creature appears on the hex (survivors, zombies, sand worms, shrikes and others). You'll have to fight it — details in Battles.
Quest. Sometimes discovery can start an encounter or a quest step right on the map.
What's around your avatar
Wherever you stand, you always see several hexes around your avatar — this is the area available for actions. In this zone you can explore, gather resources, interact with the world and build.
